TUESDAY’S HIGHLIGHTS

BOYS BASKETBALL

MacKay Larsen and Dana Fisher took charge with 11 points each, pacing Wayland (1-0) past Dual County League rival Weston, 51-37. …  Itai Alinsky and Jake Lemelin each scored 20 points as Newton South defeated Concord-Carlisle, 66-39. …Max Alper scored 13 points as Bedford defeated Waltham, 53-36.

Ryan Hutchinson led a quartet of double-figure scorers with 15 points as Hamilton-Wenham defeated North Reading, 56-46, in the Cape Ann League.

Jevon Holley scored 27 points and Joson Sanon added 16 as Durfee defeated New Bedford, 69-61, in the Southeast Conference.

In the Patriot League, Nate Amado poured in 27 points and grabbed 10 boards, propelling Whitman-Hanson (1-0) to a 79-50 victory over Silver Lake. … Julian Llopiz scored 31 points and Cam Shaughnessy added 13 as Plymouth North (2-0) defeated Silver Lake, 60-57.

Logan Berube posted 11 points and 12 rebounds to lead Fairhaven over Case, 49-35, in the South Coast Conference…Mike Henricksen (12 points, 12 rebounds) and Jake Generazzo (12 points, 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles to boost Apponequet (1-0) to a 65-41 win over Bourne.

Declan Walmsley had 18 points, while Andrew Byfield registered a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds as Franklin defeated Milford, 62-52, in the Hockomock League…Sam Cohen scored 16 points and Kiran Chandrasekaran had 15 to pace Sharon (1-0) past Foxboro in overtime, 54-53…Will Keefe’s 14 points bolstered Canton (1-0) to a 59-54 win over Stoughton.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Kenzie Matulonis led a big scoring effort with 15 points and five assists, while Bella Calvani (11 points, 12 rebounds) and Reese Bartlett each swiped six steals for Bridgewater-Raynham (1-0) in a 73-25 Southeastern Conference win over Dartmouth.

Haley Melvin had 15 points and five rebounds, while Alex McQuilkin added 10 as Wayland defeated Weston, 58-32, in the Dual County League. … Kori Barach scored 17 points as Concord-Carlisle held off Newton South, 52-45.

Maya Medeiros scored 11 points as Fairhaven (1-0) defeated Case, 38-33, in the South Coast Conference…Allie Powers, Lily Buron and Julianna Nasiff all scored in double-figures to power Somerset Berkley (1-0) to a 58-13 win over Greater New Bedford.

Olivia Quinn poured in 19 points for Franklin (1-0) in a 51-22 win over Milford in Hockomock League play…Katelyn Mollica and Erin Foley both scored 13 points for Foxboro (1-0) in a 56-19 win over Sharon.

Rose Morelli and Brianne Slattery each had nine points, while Sarah Gerber had 12 rebounds as North Reading edged Hamilton-Wenham, 41-37, in the Cape Ann League.
