In a nonleague contest, Brendan Ardito recorded a hat trick while Tristan Miller added a goal and two assists as Austin Prep defeated Charlestown, 7-2.
In the Catholic Central League, Dan Contreras registered a hat trick, helping to power St. Joseph Prep to a 10-0 victory over Cathedral.
GIRLS SOCCER
In a Mayflower League opener, Emily Lehane and Emily Hietala each scored a pair of goals as Blue Hills (1-0) blanked Old Colony, 7-0.
In Dual County League action, sophomore Alexis Thermidor scored her first varsity goal and the games lone goal as Acton-Boxboro defeated Westford, 1-0.
In the Patriot League, Maddie Allen and Kayla Cassidy paced the attack with two goals apiece, as Whitman-Hanson (2-0) blanked rival Quincy, 7-0.
FIELD HOCKEY
In a Cape Ann contest, Linde Ruitenberg recorded a goal and an assist to lift Ipswich past Georgetown, 2-1.
VOLLEYBALL
In a nonleague opener, freshman Caroline Gray tallied 27 assists as Whitman-Hanson downed Abington, 3-0.
